   Create an AssemblyAI account, generate an API key, and run your first transcription. AssemblyAI's API accepts audio URLs or binary uploads and returns JSON with full transcripts, speaker labels, sentiment, and chapter markers. The Node.js and Python SDKs are well-maintained and handle streaming.

   Add Whisper.cpp as Self-Hosted Fallback

   Clone the whisper.cpp repo, compile for your target platform, and run inference on a local audio file. Whisper.cpp ships optimized builds for Apple Silicon, AVX2 CPUs, and CUDA. For production self-hosted deployments, wrap it in a simple HTTP server using whisper-cpp-server or the Python bindings.
